moved by: Spring buds
Last night my almost-four year old was admiring the coral carnations I have in a vase - a little more orange than pink - my favorite color. He called attention to the buds - the green bulbs that were floating next to the vibrant petals. I didn’t even notice there were buds on there until he pointed them out and told me that they were going to open soon.
I failed to notice the potential to bloom, that was still there, amidst so many colors. The potential to continue to grow, to continue building on a beautiful situation. The buds of our lives that just need a little more sunlight and attention, to open up and wow. These flowers are so simple. They’re not trying to be anything else. They’re just hoping to be themselves, and grow every petal. And soak up the cool waters of live while they’re there.
